Upload Address book With Groups
FastMail.FM does not currently support uploading address books with groups. Any group information will be lost in the upload process.
Support of Address Book Synchronization Via IMSP/ACAP/LDAP
IMSP and ACAP are quite well suited to this job, but unfortunately they are only supported by one client (Mulberry).
LDAP is a general directory services protocol supported by most clients. However only "read only" is typically supported, and authentication is generally not supported by most clients (meaning that your address book would be available to everyone).
Therefore we have plans to create some synchronization software ourselves. Currently there is no timeline on this however.
Transfer Address book from Microsoft Hotmail to FastMail.FM
For Microsoft Windows:
-
Setup Outlook Express with your Hotmail account.
-
Click Start then Run. Type 'wab' and click the 'OK' button. The Windows Address Book should now load.
-
Click 'Tools'->'Synchronize Address Book'. Your addresses are now in Outlook Express.
-
Follow the instructions for importing an address book from Outlook Express.
